Michael Sly was born and raised in the
Midwest. From an early age he has been an avid student of the ancient Greeks, Romans and the
American Civil War. Now he is able to combine his interest in history
along with his artistic talents to offer Living History Portraits.

Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and
Painting. While attending school, he worked as an illustrator for the
Mammal Curator at the Field Museum of Natural History. Michael's art has been shown
both regionally and nationally, receiving numerous awards in
juried art competitions. His art has been used in a national ad campaign, and
is currently displayed in the Center
for Creative Arts Gallery in Indianapolis, IN.
